[Charles has, at this point, offered to let her stay with him whenever she needs a place to go, but he also runs into her in the garden. He's been taking his responsibility as caretaker seriously, even if he's still not really an expert in these things, so he putters around quietly and tries to keep out of her way while she's meditating.
He probably won't admit to keeping an eye out in case anyone unfriendly decides to drop by and interrupt her, but it's not like that sort of thing doesn't happen on the Barge.]
